HP Compaq Presario CQ20

The HP Compaq Presario CQ20 is the smallest model in the HP Compaq Presario CQ series with a display screen that measures 12 inches while the other two models measure 14 inches and 16 inches. The HP Compaq Presario CQ20 has a resolution of 1,280×800, similar to its siblings however.

The HP Compaq Presario CQ20 has a 2 GHz Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo P7350 processor that is supported by a solid memory of 2 gigabytes. These specs make running multiple applications an easy task.

It’s astounding how the HP Compaq Presario CQ20 was able to accommodate all the features in such a small package. It does have an optical drive and three USB ports. The model also has two video output connections, VGA and HDMI. The HP Compaq Presario CQ20 can be plugged to a true HD television to view high definition media. It’s also amazing how it has all these plus SD/MMC memory card reader, ports for Bluetooth and Infrared as well as an ExpressCard slot.

The CQ20 has a hard disk that can carry up to 250 gigabytes, which is clearly a lot of space to store anyone’s documents and multimedia files in. Downloads of your favorite movies, shows and music can be stored with no difficulty.

Due to its small size, this laptop scores high on portability. If it’s convenience you want, you’ll certainly get that from the CQ20. Weighing less than 2 kilograms, the CQ20 won’t be a bother carrying around. It also wouldn’t occupy much space on your luggage, making traveling with it even more convenient.

The CQ20 doesn’t have a dedicated graphics card hence its graphics-processing abilities are less than stellar. This model won’t be ideal for playing the latest games with. The integrated graphics card proves to be a disadvantage when the consumer uses this laptop for 3D gaming. This laptop has an average price of $1,000.

Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium

Processor: Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo P7350 2 GHz

Graphics: Intel GMA 4500MHD

Memory: 2 GB

Hard disk space: 250 GB

The CQ20’s 2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor and its 2 gigabytes of RAM enable the user to work on several programs at the same time. With this laptop, you’d never have to second-guess whether clicking on more applications would be something that your laptop can handle.

The HDMI port is definitely a plus. The laptop’s 12.1-inch screen is tiny and users would love the opportunity to hook it up to an HD TV when the opportunity presents itself.

Like the other models under the Compaq CQ series, the CQ20 is set back due to its lack of a dedicated graphics card. HD content can be viewed with no errors but the platform doesn’t provide a fitting gaming experience when it comes to graphics. That means that the CQ20 is limited to the targeted customers who would use the laptop for purposes other than gaming.

The CQ20 does not have a platform meant for gaming. However, for any other type of application, this laptop would be very capable. Whether it’s word processing, handling spreadsheets, or music and movies that you’re into, this Compaq would not fall short of giving you that satisfaction.
